Plant-Based Doesn’t Mean Left Out: My Journey to Inclusive Travel

It happened in Sint Maarten, in a stunning villa overlooking the ocean. My sister was getting married. The chefs were incredible. Simmering sauces. Beautifully plated dishes. Flavors from across the world.

For everyone else.

For me, a plant-based traveler, they had no idea what to make.

At first, it was awkward. I nibbled on sides. I worried I’d offend someone. I quietly ate protein bars in my room while everyone else raved about their meals.

But then, something shifted.

By the end of the week, the chefs got creative. They rose to the challenge. I was finally able to sit at the same table, eat meals that nourished me, and feel… included.

I remember the moment clearly. Sitting alone in my room one night, I had the clearest thought I’d had in months.

What if travel could feel like this all the time?
What if food wasn’t a stressor, but a celebration?

What if people like me never had to feel like the “odd one out” again?

A Little Backstory

In 2020, I was completely burned out. Emotionally. Physically. Spiritually.

That December, a Crohn’s diagnosis shook me to my core. I was put on harsh medications, and nothing seemed to help. Until I went plant-based.

That decision changed everything. My symptoms eased almost overnight. I finally had my energy back. My clarity. My spark.

But I quickly learned how hard it was to travel that way. The research. The substitutions. The “Sorry, we don’t have anything for you.” The invisible weight of feeling like the one who didn’t belong.

So I decided to create the thing I couldn’t find. A travel experience that didn’t just accommodate a plant-based lifestyle. It celebrated it.

The Realization: This Isn’t Just About Food

Bright Path Travel didn’t start with a business plan. It started with a deep understanding.

Travel should be more than checking off sights or keeping up with a schedule.

 It should feel like ease.

 Like belonging.

Like arriving at the table and knowing you’re already considered.

And more than anything, it’s about connection.

That’s why I shifted from focusing purely on luxury or burnout recovery travel to something deeper.

Because at the heart of it, we’re not just craving rest, we’re craving belonging.

What We Do Differently

At Bright Path Travel, we design journeys where plant-based travelers never have to second-guess a meal.

Each experience is:

• Carefully curated with local, cultural depth

 • Centered around plant-based meals that are vibrant, nourishing, and never an afterthought

 • Full of kind, curious travelers who share your values

 • Guided by a wholesome, inclusive philosophy that honors your rhythms, your needs, and your desire for connection

Whether you’re plant-based for your health, the planet, or because it simply feels right, you are welcome here. So are your loved ones. You never have to leave someone behind to travel this way.

Everyone Is Welcome at the Table

You don’t need to be fully plant-based to travel with us. In fact, many people bring a spouse, partner, or friend who eats differently. And they always leave surprised by how abundant and flavorful every meal is.

We believe food is a gateway to culture and connection.

And everyone deserves to feel at home around the table.
